Cycling Photography – as a sports photographer over the last few years I have increasingly found myself covering more and more cycling events.
Cycling Photography including The Tour of Britain, The Tour Series, UCI World Cup Cyclocross as well as various other regional events. Like the London X League. I always think its about capturing not only the action but also whats going on around, in the crowd or the environment.

Action is great and its what publications want to see. But sometimes its a case of just stepping back and looking at the wider view.
Tour of Britain Stage 8, London. Sir Bradley Wiggins surrounded by his Sky team mates, just leaving White Hall on his way to an emphatic 2013 Tour of Britain win. Much to the enjoyment of the huge crowd that was gathered to watch.

One of my favourite events to cover is the Tour Series. What’s not to like? tight and technical inner city circuits. Couple this with loads of action and you have a format that is growing in popularity every year.
Cycling Photography – Ready on the start line. Pearl Izumi Tour Series. Round 8 Canary Wharf 2015.
Its a case of planning to cover these events as they are done and dusted in just over an hour. Its not unlike my rallycross work. Everything is fast paced and condensed into very little time.

Something fairly new to me is covering Cyclocross. However it does make for some great cycling photography pictures.
